The Paparazzi Exposed: A Conversation with Lawyers for Celebrity Bloggers and Photographers

Los Angeles-Attorneys for TMZ.com, celebrity photo agency X17 and PerezHilton.com will discuss the legal turmoils faced by celebrity news organizations as part of the Loyola Law School Entertainment & Sports Law Society symposium, “The Paparazzi, Celebrity Bloggers…and the Lawyers Who Represent Them.” The event will be held at 12pm on Thursday, Feb. 28 on Loyola’s downtown LA campus.

The event will feature prominent paparazzi attorneys: Michael Amir, legal counsel to PerezHilton.com; Loyola Visiting Professor John Tehranian, legal counsel to X17; and Jeremy Williams, senior vice president and deputy general counsel, Warner Bros. Entertainment (including TMZ.com). Amir and Tehranian were opposing counsel in the highly publicized battle between celebrity blogger Mario Lavandeira, better know as Perez Hilton, and the X17 agency over damages for unauthorized use of celebrity photos. The speakers will discuss topics ranging from copyright infringement to tort claims.
